in order to safegaurd our community experience, spheres is an invite-only community. this means you need to have received an invitation from a current member in order to apply with us. if a member has extended an invitation to you, the next step is to apply here with your information and example post if you have stumbled across this community but have not received an invitation, we ask that you wait to apply until you have. asking for a home or specific pairing or storyline in the usual places like ~rps and ~psls will be enough to make our members aware of you as a potential member of our community with gratitude for your interest, we ask that you please not request invitations of our members unsolicited. if you have advertised in the usual places, we'll see you! pre-applying checklist: your friends only and contact posts are stickied (future year) to the top of your journal the month and day on friends only post matches your application date your journal's timestamp is current your journal is cleared of any non-community journals your entire userinfo is visible and free of any noembed codes

activity

once you're accepted into spheres, you have 72 hours to introduce yourself to the community. in lieu of traditional ice-breaker posts, we encourage you to join the weekly free-for-all and begin building connections that way. this will count as your intro provided you reply to the majority of your comments if you happen to join in the gap between the weekly ffa post (~72 hours before the next post) then simply make a post of any kind in either your journal or ~host that will help us welcome you into the community so that we know you’re still with us after joining, you should respond to the majority of your comments and have run the friends button within your first 72 hours journals must be updated every 3 weeks. we will allow 1 placeholder every other update, but your substance posts must be visible to the friends page and have comments enabled in order to count. our guideline for posts of substance is at least 100 words of original writing friends lists need to be kept current so make sure you run the friends button at least once every 2 weeks you may begin extending invitations to potential members only after you have been accepted into the community. to clarify, receiving an invite yourself and simply submitting an application is not sufficient to extend invites. invites can only be extended by current members of the community

rejections/removals

why we may reject an app despite having an invite an invitation from one of our members does not immediately admit you into the community. the final decision regarding admittance will be up to the mods most who receive invitations will be admitted, but we may not see eye-to-eye with every member on every invitation. while we hope you won't take any rejections personally, we will not respond to any queries either from current or prospective members regarding why your application was not approved be good we will not hesitate to remove any member who engages in any form of harassment, ic/ooc blurring, outing or any other negative behavior that makes anyone feel unsafe or otherwise casts the community in a negative light. be kind and respectful of your fellow writers and save the fireworks for ic

wire/other apps our preference is for our members to spend most of their time interacting on the friends page, in comments, or in customs. app usage will not be banned but we would prefer that you keep it on the downlow and try to keep it to a minimum. there will be no community-run chat or activities on wire or any other app advertising in rps/psls this is okay though we would prefer that members avoid posting too frequently in ~rps. we hope to keep our community under the radar and lowkey, so advertising in other communtities will not be requested of our members if current members are looking to bring specific celebs into the community for connections/lines then you can feel free to post in other communities requesting them. we would just like to keep this to a minimum as much as possible commenting to others' home/line request posts with an invitation to apply with us is perfectly okay and actually our preferred method for bringing new faces into the community we are capping membership at spheres to 50 members total so growing our membership count is not a priority for us as much as building a strong community of creative and dedicated writers. quality over quantity, always hiatuses/extensions if you need extra time between updates, or need to request a more extended hiatus, contact us. extensions and hiatus requests will be handled case-by-case and details will be kept confidential member hiatuses and extensions are noted on our taken list
